LWG BDI
Grade 10 German

This is a fun-filled, busy, University Level course that will provide students with a very solid foundation in the German language. They will study 8 chapters of a beginning German textbook (Deutsch Aktuell 1) and engage in many reading activities: external and in-class.  The fast-paced, upbeat tempo of the class provides for many opportunities for oral communication (activities), while maintaining a strong grammatical foundation. After this semester of German, students will be able to confidently respond in writing, on a variety of topics, recite poems of famous German poets by memory, perform dialogues geared toward practical situations and read and comprehend writing from a variety of sources. Students will also possess a thorough understanding of the German culture through enjoyment of German food, music, authentic & current visual materials, multiple field trips (Schneiderhaus, Christkindl Market, a German pastry shop, Schnitzel lunch…) and so much more!
