Welcome to the 2019-20 School Year!
It is with pleasure that I extend warm greetings to all members of the Bluevale Community. I am honoured to be the Principal of Bluevale Collegiate. Bluevale has much to offer every student and I am always impressed by the many ways the community supports our students.
As you begin the new school year please take the time to reflect, refine and set new personal and academic goals for the coming year. Remember that your teachers and other staff members are here to support you in the pursuit of your goals.
I would encourage all students to get involved in extracurricular activities at school. Extra-curricular activities (clubs, teams, musical ensembles, drama productions, etc.) enrich your high school experience. They are a great avenue for you to feel connected with the school, your peers, and your teachers, and to develop important life skills. Finally, participation in extracurricular activities will help you create lasting memories of your time here at BCI. There will be a club fair in the front foyer at lunch Wednesday, September 4th. Please listen to the morning announcements and/or check out the television screens to find out more about teams, music ensembles, and extracurricular activities. I believe when students take the initiative to participate in the many aspects of school life, they will develop their full potential.
Working with our parent community is a priority and I urge you to be active in your child’s education whether it is through School Council, attending Parent/Teacher Night, contacting your son/daughter’s classroom teachers, Guidance Counsellor, or Vice-Principal if you have any questions or concerns, or discussing with your child what they are learning. We need your support in order to make a difference with our students. Our first Parents’ Night is October 24th from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m.; this evening provides an early indication of student progress. Please mark this date on your calendar. Parents, teachers, support staff, and administrators working together will make a positive difference in the lives of our students.

I look forward to seeing you again in the hallways, classrooms, the cafeteria, or at various activities throughout the year.
I am looking forward to a wonderful school year. Go Knights!
