In May our top German Students attended the WLU Senior Level German Contest to compete against the best 24 grade 12 German students in Waterloo Region.
The students competed in grammar, essay writing, audio-visual components, and speaking interviews with a University professor and a German teacher.
Taking home well over $2000 in personal cheques for their hard work, are Brayden Manderson, Lydia Charters and Miki Matsuoka, ranking 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the Region and Kya Taylor and Spencer Jaschkowski, who ranked 6th and 9th in the Regular Category. In the Advanced Category, Jill Beingessner was rewarded for her strong 6th place finish.
All of these students were recognized and rewarded for their outstanding achievement by the German Business and Professional Association at the Wilfrid L. Bitzer Event on October 20th at the Alpine Club.
Congratulations to each of these students and their German teacher and coach, Linda Jung!
