MUSIC COURSES – GRADE 9

Grade 9 music provides opportunities to either build on skills learned in Grade 7 & 8 or acquire skills from scratch (Beginning Grade 9 Instrumental). Students will continue to progress on their instrument or voice, and learn more about the language of music, including the elements, terminology, and music listening. 

AMI1OI – INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC – BEGINNER

Absolutely no experience is necessary or expected. Students also learn how to read music and experience different types of music through performance and listening. Students are highly encouraged to join one of the ensembles at Bluevale to really get the most out of the music program during their time at Bluevale.

 

AMI1OX – INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC – EXPERIENCED

Flutes - Brass & Woodwinds - Musical Instruments - Products - Yamaha - Canada - English

Students will continue to enhance their skills on a woodwind, brass or percussion instrument started in Grade 7 & 8.

Recommended prerequisite for AMI1OX: At least 1 year of experience on a woodwind, brass, or percussion instrument. Guitar or piano are not available in this course.

AMV1OI – VOCAL MUSIC

Students will have the opportunity to sing a variety of styles of music in large group, small ensemble and solo settings. Absolutely no experience is necessary or expected. Students will also learn how to read music and expand their musical vocabulary.
