We are the Knights!

Bluevale is a caring community school. For more than fifty years, the staff at Bluevale have delivered exceptional programming both inside and outside our classrooms and supported all students in reaching their goals.

Our graduates have gone on to attend some of the most prestigious University programs in North America and been accepted into very competitive trade schools or apprenticeships. In addition, we host a vibrant and diverse arts community and support a range of competitive recreational athletic programs.

We are pleased to offer four Specialist High Skills Major programs:  Arts and Culture, Business, Health and Wellness, and Manufacturing. The Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) offers grade 11 and 12 students the opportunity to explore a targeted career path in depth.  This program may be completed at the University, College, Apprenticeship or Workplace level.  Successful completion of this enrichment program earns students a unique red seal of achievement on their graduation diplomas.  In most cases, it also offers an advantage on post-secondary program applications and job opportunities. In addition, some colleges and universities also offer specific scholarships to SHSM graduates.  Most importantly, all students are impacted by the experiential learning connected to the SHSM program.  These included reach ahead activities, sector-relevant certifications and a mandatory Co-op placement.

Unique to Bluevale is our Choose2Lead Program.  This dedicated leadership program is focused on the development and enhancement of leadership skills and knowledge, while providing students the chance to fulfill their leadership potential throughout their high school careers.  Choose to Lead is about Connection, Community and Citizenship.

I encourage each one of you to get involved in life at Bluevale.  There are so many different things you can choose to be involved in during your time at Bluevale.  Whether you choose athletics, arts, music, clubs or one of the many other activities offered here, I hope that you find a way to get involved with something beyond the classroom.  These extra-curricular activities are a wonderful way to meet new friends and will serve to enrich your high school experience.

For details about the coming school year, please visit the Bluevale website.  On the website, you will find detailed information including important dates, activities around the school and how to contact us should you have a question or a concern.  Please consider joining the Bluevale School Council.  This is a great place to learn more about the school.   When we work together as partners, we will ensure the most positive outcomes for all of our students.

I look forward to working with our students, families and community partners to ensure that our students achieve and succeed!

Wishing everyone a successful 2024-2025 school year.
