It is wonderful to welcome students, staff, parents/caregivers, and community partners to another school year that will be filled with the joy of learning, authentic relationships, and a sense of belonging for all.
Bluevale Collegiate has been part of the WRDSB family of schools for over fifty years, supporting students in reaching their academic and personal potential. As principal, I am thrilled to be a part of the journey this year, supporting a strong staff and helping to inspire all of our BCI Knights, their families, communities and other champions.
As we enter the 2025/26 school year, we remain committed to academic achievement for all BCI students and therefore offer a range of courses, pathways and programs that cater to their diverse learning needs. Alongside this, aligned with WRDSB’s strategic goals, we continue to focus on student and staff wellbeing, supporting a sense of belonging for everyone.
My hope for this year is that you find your place here at Bluevale, whether you are returning to a new grade or are one of our newest Knights. I am confident in the school’s ability to create spaces where students and staff alike can thrive and feel valued members of the school community.
I encourage each one of you to get involved in school life at Bluevale. There are many opportunities for you to get involved during your time here. Whether you decide on arts, athletics, music, clubs, affinity groups, or one of the many other activities offered here, these extracurricular activities are an excellent way to meet new friends. They will serve to enrich your high school experience.
I invite you to visit the Bluevale website for information about the 2025/2026 school year, where you will find detailed information, including essential dates and activities around the school, as well as contact information in case you have a question or concern.
I consider parents/caregivers to be essential partners in their student’s educational journey at Bluevale, and I look forward to connecting with you to support their school experience. As such, if you are a parent/carer of a current BCI student, please consider joining the Bluevale School Council.
The African proverb “it takes a village to raise a child” anchors a collaborative approach to supporting students, as well as one another. Therefore, when we work together as students, staff, and community members, committed to the success of all students, we are more likely to see positive outcomes for all of our students.
As we begin the new school year 2025/26, I look forward to working with you all and wish you a successful and enjoyable year.
Mrs. P Janke,
BCI Principal
