Congratulations to Russell Weigel, Mike Brooks and Nick Forler for their wonderful performances this week at the OFSAA Wrestling Championships in Windsor.  Russell finished in the top 10 in the province in his weight class comprised of more than 30 competitors.

Grade 10 student, Mike Brooks, finished in fourth place overall and earned a place in the bronze medal match by pinning an opponent who he had not defeated all season long.

The highlight of the Championship for Bluevale goes to grade 9 student Nick Forler, who in his first year of high school competition, made it to the championship final against wrestlers in some cases several years older.  Nick brings a silver OFSAA medal back to Bluevale.

Congratulations to the three wrestlers and the entire team for creating a wonderful supportive atmosphere for each other.  Thanks as well to Mr. Wolf for joining the team in Windsor and to Nick Smith who was so supportive of his teammates by warming up his teammates before each of their matches.  Special thanks and congratulations as well to Mrs. Bender who revived Bluevale wrestling two years ago to see the Bluevale team climb the OFSAA standings to finish 13th overall in the province.
