Graduation Requirements
For secondary students working towards an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), requirements for graduation include:
- Course credit accumulation
- Community involvement hours
- Secondary school literacy graduation requirement
- Grade 10 financial literacy requirement
- Online learning requirement
For Students Who Started Grade 9 in 2024 Onwards
The details of the graduation requirements have been updated by the Ministry of Education. This means that students who entered Grade 9 in 2024 and 2025 have different requirements than those who started Grade 9 in 2023 or before.

Credit Accumulation for the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)
One component of the OSSD graduation requirement is the accumulation of 30 credits.
