On Wed. Feb 15, 2023, All SHSM (Specialist High Skills Major) sectors at Bluevale (Arts & Culture, Business and Manufacturing) students visited the inaugural production of Legally Blonde The Musical, at the St. Jacob’s Playhouse. The musical was produced by The Drayton Entertainment Youth Academy. 

SHSM students were given the opportunity to watch the humorous and entertaining production which featured high school students on stage and behind the scenes from across Waterloo Region, specifically starring three talented Bluevale students. 

After the show, Bluevale SHSM students were able to engage with the all youth cast and crew and ask questions about their experiences preparing and performing in the show.

This experiential learning experience supported Bluevale SHSM students by showcasing to them the clever execution of on stage design such as lights, music and choreography, as well as, the important behind the scenes work, such as health and safety precautions, costumes and overall placement of important elements for scenes. As a local organization, The Drayton Entertainment Youth Academy promotes its offerings online via its website, instagram and word of mouth through its actors as their social influencers.
