Business and Manufacturing SHSM (Specialist High Skills Major) students visited Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada (TMMC) on Wed. Feb 8, 2023. 

Students were given the opportunity to tour the Cambridge plant to see and learn about how TMMC manufactures some of the best built vehicles with a quality mindset infused into each step of the process. 

How the SHSM program connects students to real world learning

Business SHSM students were able to make connections to content discussed within our business courses here at Bluevale such as supply and demand, identifying distribution strategies, just in time inventory, and sustainability initiatives within the production process. 

Manufacturing SHSM students made course connections by seeing first hand the various sections of the plant in action, such as the welding and assembly shops, and the testing facility. In doing so, students observed the various robots and production team members working seamlessly to create vehicles to be shipped all around North America.
