On Thursday, November 15, staff were made aware of a note on school property that made reference to a future act of violence. This threat was immediately reported to the Waterloo Regional Police Service.
We want to be clear that it is unacceptable to make threats towards anyone. Our students have the right to learn in a safe environment without fear. No matter the intention, we take any intimidation or threat of violence seriously.
Our priority is ensuring that our schools remain safe places where students experience a caring learning environment that addresses their well-being.
Every precaution is being taken to ensure the safety of our students and staff and we are working closely with our partners at Waterloo Regional Police Service.
