In May our top grade 10 German Students attended the WLU Grade 10 German Language Contest to compete against the best German students in Waterloo Region. The students competed in grammar, audio-visual components, and speaking interviews with a University professor and a German teacher.

Our 4 entries all placed in the top 8 out of 18 competitors. Alexxis Armstrong won 1st Place, Becca Passmore came in 3rd, Claire Weigel 7th and Madison French 8th.  Prizes ranged from $500.00 to $375.00

In the Senior German Video Competition, our team of Emily Taylor, Ryan Schmitthauser, Michael Hind and Michelle Loi placed 2nd. Each student took home a cheque for $450.00.

All of these students were recognized and rewarded for their outstanding achievement by the German Business and Professional Association at the Wilfrid L. Bitzer Event on May 17, 2017 at Rockway Collegiate. Congratulations to all of our German students and to their teacher Linda Jung!
