This is one week earlier than the previous deadline of October 23.   The new, earlier deadline of October 16 will help students feel settled in their […]

Resources to Help Those Experiencing Family Violence

Supporting our students and their families goes beyond their learning – we want all those in the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) community to know there are resources available to help them cope with the added stress of the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the Waterloo Region Crime Prevention Council, 1 in 3 Canadians is […]

Mid Point Student Progress Communication:

On Friday we will reach the midpoint of Quadmester 1.  This year there will be four formal report cards at the end of each quadmester.  It is also best practice that we communicate with parents/students information about a student’s progress.  This will not be a formal report, but parents should expect an email […]

Attention 2020 Graduates!

Dear Graduates,

We want you to know that we have not forgotten you!

The WRDSB, and we at Bluevale Collegiate, recognize that Commencement Celebrations are crucial milestones in our students’ learning journeys. It is a time to acknowledge the accomplishments and hard work our students put forward in earning their diplomas.

We still plan to celebrate you and recognize your academic achievements.

Given the current COVID situation however, it will not be possible to move ahead with our traditional Commencement Ceremony held at the Waterloo Rec Complex or to hold the ceremony here at Bluevale.  Planning is currently underway at the Board level to develop a concept for Commencement for all of the WRDSB Secondary Schools, that will honour our graduates while still meeting current health and safety requirements.

Here is what we know so far:

  • Commencement will be virtual this year.
  • Commencement will NOT take place on our tentative October 9th date as communicated to you last June.  Instead, a November date is likely.

We will keep you informed as to the specifics as plans become firm here on the Bluevale Website.
