Waterloo Region Christmas Support Program

Each year local Waterloo Region non-profits, service clubs and faith groups come together as the Christmas Support Network and coordinate services to help local families and individuals with food and gifts.

The Waterloo Region Christmas Support Network consists of:

If you or someone you know is in a difficult time of need, emergency food hampers are available for individuals and families throughout the year.

Salvation Army – Food Hamper Program

New and Improved Shopping model! Come in and shop for your groceries. Up to 10x per year. Please call 519-745-3351 x 108 to make an appointment.

Glencairn Church Bridges Centre

Services: Food and clothing available on the second and fourth Saturday of the month,

Hours: 9am  – 11am. One hamper per month

Kitchener Church of God

Services:  Six hampers per family per year 

Required: Bring ID for each family member 


oneRoof Youth Services

Services:  One hamper per person per week 

Required: For youth ages 12 – 25 years; New clients must bring ID 


Ray of Hope

Hours:  Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 9:30am – 12n by appointment only

Monday and Thursday: 6:30pm. – 9pm. by appointment only 

Services:  One hamper per family per month; canned goods available

St. Aloysius

 Address:  11 Traynor Avenue, Kitchener (entrance at rear of the building near parking lot)

Hours:  The second and fourth Monday of the month: 7pm – 8pm.
               The third Tuesday of the month: 9:00am 10:00am.

Services:  One hamper per family per month 

Required: Photo ID, proof of social assistance and proof of address required for each family member   Must be within the defined geographic area.  Please bring your own bags Appointment needed in July and August
