September 2nd, 2022
We are excited to welcome our students back to school.
We released earlier in the week the First Day of School schedule. HERE it is again for you to look at. Please ensure that you read through the opening day schedule and arrive at the time you need to. We also wanted to share some further information with our students and families.
Lockers:
- Lockers will be distributed in the coming weeks. We have moved to a new student information system, and our first priority was to get students into classes and generate home rooms and new student timetables. We will soon begin to look at assigning lockers. You do not need to have a lock for the first day as any locks put on lockers will be cut off.
Extracurricular Activities
- We encourage all students to get involved at Bluevale! There is a team, club, or activity for everyone. We will be hosting an Activity Fair on September 12. Please listen to the morning announcements and look for posted information in the school about WCSSAA fall sports.
Litterless Lunch
As part of our ongoing commitment to be good stewards of the environment, we encourage students to bring a litterless lunch. Garbage and food waste would need to go home with you.
Infection Prevention and Control
Daily self-screening is no longer mandatory; however, it is still recommended that students and visitors continue to self-screen every day before attending school using the Ontario School Screening Tool. We would ask if the message you receive from the screener is “do not attend school”, that you remain at home until you do get the green “go to school” message.
Masks
The wearing of masks is no longer mandatory. We ask that you be respectful to those students and staff who choose to continue to wear a mask. Student masks are available at the school for students.
Rapid Antigen Tests
If you require a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) please visit the main office and we will give you one.
Hand Hygiene
We encourage all students to practice proper hand hygiene multiple times throughout the day.
Registration still continues…you need an appointment to register or speak with a counsellor. Thanks for your patience. Have a great long weekend.
