Dear Graduating Students & Guardians of Graduating Students,
It is hard to believe that we are nearing the end of the semester! For many of you, it has been just a few short years since you entered grade 9 and received a Chromebook.
Time to return Chromebooks:
- Chromebooks and their charging cords are the property of the Waterloo Region District School Board and must be returned upon graduation, or when a student transfers from our Board.
- Students leaving Bluevale Collegiate Institute are expected to return their Chromebook and charger to the Library, Main Office, or IST Office on the day of their final exam/class.
- Students who do not have an exam are expected to return their Chromebook and charger to the IST Office during the last week of Class (Monday, June 16th toThursday, June 19th).
- Chromebooks may be returned regardless of their condition. Students will not be charged if they return a damaged device. Chromebooks that are not returned will be disabled by WRDSB Information Technology Services and rendered unusable.
Google Account Backup:
- Students graduating or who are leaving the WRDSB will have their Google Drive and email accounts closed a few weeks after the school year ends. These students are STRONGLY recommended to back up all documents and emails to their personal drive/accounts before the end of the year. Apps such as Google Takeout can make this process easier. Students should consider following this tutorial to assist with the process.
