Waterloo2Saturday at the University of Waterloo under a brilliant sky, the Bluevale Electric Car team swept the three major awards at the 2015 University of Waterloo Engineering EV Challenge against a number of schools from the region and across the province.  On the road course the day started with the team winning the 12 volt battery competition despite a minor collision in the final few minutes of the race.  In the afternoon the team followed up with a victory in the 24 volt battery competition.  The icing on the cake was a win in the Engineering competition where the student team members had to answer questions and explain the vehicle design and operating features to University of Waterloo adjudicators.  This is the first time since the competition began that one school has swept the three major awards.  Congratulations to Mr. Cox, Mr. Smith and the entire team, 22 students in all from grades 9 through 12, male and female that included 12 drivers: three per both cars entered for each race.  Thanks also to the numerous staff and parent spectators who supported the team.  The brilliant sky on Saturday was a “Bluevale Blue” as the team glittered with gold.
