Bluevale graduate, Chris Williams, won the Best Animated Feature Oscar for Big Hero 6 at last night’s Academy Awards in Los Angeles.  Williams graduated from Bluevale in 1987.   He then attended the University of Waterloo and graduated with a degree in Fine Arts.  He next enrolled in the animation program at Sheridan College, Oakville, Ontario. Upon graduation from Sheridan, he was recruited by Disney, and moved to Los Angeles.

Other animated films in which Williams has been part are:  The Emperor’s New Groove, Glago’s Guest, Bolt (for which he received his first Oscar nomination), Frozen and now Big Hero 6.  His next film, King of the Elves, is now in production.
